The public is invited to join Refuge Ranger Ed Lagace on an evening paddle through the backwaters of the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge next month.
                    
On Thursday, August 2nd, the paddle will depart from the Verchota Boat Landing at 6:30 p.m. and return to the landing by 9:00 p.m.

The boat landing is located near on Prairie Island Road between the Lock and Dam 5A spillway and Minnesota City Boat Club.

Pre-registration is required by calling 507-494-6236. The Refuge will provide canoes, paddles and PFD's for your use or you can bring your own equipment.
