Visitor Center Grand Opening



The public is invited to attend the grand opening of the new La Crosse District visitor's center and maintenance facility in Onalaska on Saturday, August 25th.
                  
The facilities, constructed by he Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge, are located on Bryce Prairie and consist of a 12,000 square foot visitor's center and a 6,000 square foot maintenance building.
                  
The buildings were funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.  The open house will run from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  The public will get a chance to see exhibits, staff offices, and storage, along with a bookstore and gift shop.
                   
The new visitor's center will open for regular business the next day on August 26th, and will be open Monday through Friday.
