The two candidates running for the First District Congressional seat will debate on Thursday, September 27th, in Byron.
                    
The Republican Alan Quist campaign says the debate will be held at the Somerby Golf Community in Byron and will be hosted by the Rochester Chamber of Commerce.  Earlier the Quist campaign said it had accepted Incumbent Democrat Tim Walz' request for three debates prior to the November 6th general election.
                    
Quist is also requesting a debate in Mankato on the federal deficit and the economy...and a second debate in Rochester on the health care bill and energy policy.
                  
In addition, the Winona Unit of the Minnesota League of Women Voters has requested the two candidates debate in Winona on October 10th, at City Hall. The local unit has also requested the candidates take questions from the audience.
