Local deer hunters will not have to go far to attend the Minnesota Governor's Annual Deer Hunting Opener this fall .
                  
That's because Winona will play host to the big event on Saturday. November 3rd.

The recent will actually start on Thursday, November 1st, with registration at the Riverport Inn and Suites. A "Welcome to Camp" kick-off gathering  will be held there at 5:00 p.m.                   

Friday events will include an Outdoors Olympics at the Winona Sportsman's Club, a Youth Field Day, and a Big Buck Lunch, also at the Winona Sportsman's Club.

Hunting will take place on Saturday, November 3rd.       

Governor Mark Dayton is expected to attend the event being put on by the Minnesota Deer Hunting Association.
