Bluff Prairie Meeting

Buffalo County is inviting the public to attend a meeting on Bluff Prairie Management coming up on Tuesday, February 5th, at the Alma Rod and Gun Club.

The meeting will feature four speakers on the topic of preserving bluff prairies along the Mississippi, Chippewa and St. Croix Rivers.  Bluff prairies are disappearing due to a lack of natural or controlled fires in the bluffs along the rivers. The bluff prairies are becoming overgrown with non-native and invasive species.

Buffalo County is home to 25% of the remaining bluff prairies in Wisconsin.  The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
