The number of foreclosures in Winona County dropped significantly during the first quarter of 2013 compared to the first three months of 2012.
County Recorder Bob Bambenek says twelve foreclosures were recorded with his during the first quarter of 2013 compared to 31 during the same time period of 2012. Pending foreclosures also dropped for the first quarter.
There have been 25 so far in 2013 compared to 30 during the first quarter of 2012. Despite the often challenging winter weather, property sales were up. There were 145 during the first three months of 2013 compared to 124 during the first quarter of 2012.
