A couple of experienced city council members are running for mayor of Alma in Tuesday's election.
Gary Ruff and Jim Wilkie are going after a two-year mayor's term to replace Robert Scow, a one-term mayor who is not running for re-election.
Wilkie pledged to continue city administration as led by Scow over the past two years. He said Scow served Alma "extremely well."
Ruff, a council member for 16 years, said he was running for mayor to keep in mind the best interests of Alma taxpayers and use his experience to represent the entire community.
In the 2nd Ward, alderman Dave Earney is running for re-election to a three-year term unopposed.
Wilkie is giving up his 1st Ward seat to run for mayor. No one filed as a candidate for the seat, which is up for a three-year term.
Ruff is midway in his term as alderman-at-large.
