While work will begin in July on the Highway 43 bridge project in Winona, the Minnesota Department of Transportation says the I-90 bridge project in Dresbach will resume next week, Tuesday, April 15th.
Mn-DOT says construction of four main piers is complete and work on the remaining substructures and piers will continue through December of this year.
Construction on both the Minnesota and Wisconsin abutments will begin this summer and continue through the fall and crews will resume hauling sand from a Mississippi River island by barge,
The bridge's pre-cast girders will also be installed next fall.
During the remaining construction phase, due for completion in 2016, traffic detours will be in place and the traveler information center at Dresbach will be closed. The DNR boat launch will remain open but the Fish and Wildlife boat launch will be closed. Lock and Dam Seven will remain open to employees at all times.
The Mississippi River bike trail will be detoured.
