Winona Radio's matching grant campaign for Ready Set School has been termed a success.
The organization reports that the campaign raised a total of nearly $15,000 dollars. That included enough for Ready Set School to qualify for the matching $10,000 Winona Radio grant.
Spokesperson Susan White said the funds were raised from donations of only $500 or less.
White said the goal was reached on April 10th when one of the organization's board members made a donation.
Ready Set School annually provides vouchers to a K-through-12 students in Winona County to help them purchase supplies and clothes for school in the fall.
During the Winona Radio 10K Matching Grant Campaign the organization had the support of a number companies in Winona. Most recently, Spalon 1161, Blooming Grounds and Bloedow Bakery all donated a portion of their proceeds for one day to Ready Set School.
Combined, the three companies donated almost $1,000 to Ready Set School, and Winona Radio matched it, bringing the total donated to Ready Set School to just under $2,000.
