Drug Take-Back Day

Minnesota and Wisconsin residents have a chance to dispose of their old and unused prescription drugs Saturday.
Minnesota Human Services Commissioner Lucinda Jesson is encouraging residents to get rid of their unwanted prescription medications as a way to stop drug abuse before it starts. Jesson says illegally used prescription drugs are usually obtained from a friend or relative.

As part of National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, you can drop off medications from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at several local sites where professionals will make sure they are properly disposed of.

The Mayo Clinic Gonda Building in Rochester will be accepting old and unused prescription drugs.

In Fillmore County, the Chatfield Police Department will be collecting prescription drugs as well as the Rushford Police Department.

Other sites include...the Lanesboro Community Center, Spring Valley Fire Department, Harmony City Hall, Trempealeau  County Sheriff's Office, Viterbo University - Fine Arts Center in La Crosse.
