Truck-Train Crash



Three Winona west end streets were closed down early Saturday because of a truck-train crash.

The Law Enforcement Center said Canadian Pacific Railway train crossings at West Fifth. West Sixth, and South Baker Streets were closed down temporarily just after 6:00 a.m.     
                
Police Sargent Rick Bittle said the incident involved a 2005 Dakota pickup and it happened at the Fifth Street intersection.

The incident was reported at 6:11 a.m.

The driver was identified as 68-year-old Jonathan Freeman of Winona who sustained minor injuries. Bittle did not know if Freeman was taken to the hospital.
                 
The crossings were reopened by about 8:30 a.m.
                 
The nearby west end fire department first responders were also summoned to the scene.
