Seifert-Governor

Former Minnesota state lawmaker Marty Seifert says he is dominating the outstate polling for the August 12th primary election for governor among four Republicans.

Seifert told Winona Radio News his polling shows he is the most popular candidate in the state's rural areas.

Seifert is from western Minnesota, has spent 18 years on the farm, 14 years in the legislature, and 12 as a small business owner.

He says one of the chief issues he has heard about is the Affordable Care Act and he wants to stop rising health care costs including co-pays and deductibles if he is elected.

Three other candidates on the Republican side in the primary include endorsed candidate Jeff Johnson, along with Scott Honour and Kurt Zellers, another former lawmaker.

The top vote-getter on August 12th will face Democratic incumbent Governor Mark Dayton.
