Even though the Winona area saw eight to nine inches of snow Saturday into Sunday, only six vehicles got tagged for parking on the wrong side of the street overnight.
City plows managed to clear most of the streets on Sunday and the street department did not issue any snow emergency. No vehicles were towed away.
Nine inches of snow were reported at Lock and Dam 5 at Minneiska and 8 inches at Lock and Dam 5-A near Fountain City.
9.9 inches were reported at the La Crosse airport...7.2 inches in Trempealeau County...Lock and Dam 4 at Alma reported 6 inches...and Rochester reported 8.3 inches.
Remember alternate side parking is enforced in Winona between the hours of midnight and 6:30 a.m.each day. Vehicles can be towed during declared snow emergencies if they are parked on the wrong side of the street....
