Two Wabasha County elected officials want bigger salary increases for 2017 than what were granted by the county board of commissioners.
County Attorney Karrie Kelly and Auditor-Treasurer Denise Anderson have filed appeals seeking higher increases.
The board granted Kelly a 2-percent increase to $93,850 dollars while Kelly had sought a 5-percent increase. Anderson was also granted a 2-percent increase to $72,200 while also seeking a five percent increase.
According to the Wabasha County Herald, the board has decided to seek outside counsel to handle the appeals. The cost to the county will be $170 an hour and is expected to cost between six and ten thousand dollars total in legal fees according to County Administrator Michael Plante....
