Opening January 3rd and running through April 16th at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum in Winona is picture exhibition entitled: Confluence: Geography, History, and Culture at the Intersection of the Mississippi and Minnesota Rivers.
The Photographs are by Luke Erickson and it's an exhibition of photographs highlighting the historical, economic and social importance of the Mississippi and Minnesota Rivers.
Each photograph captures the current state of these rivers and explores the interplay between natural features and man-made objects. Featured are images of and rural sections of these rivers inside and out of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area.
Luke Erickson is a Minneapolis photographer and Director of the Foundation for the Exhibition of Photography. The exhibition is part of the Minnesota Marine Art Museum's Mississippi River Series of ongoing exhibitions of artists inspired by the River.
