The Winona County Sheriff's Department says a man was rescued from the icey Mississippi River in Minnesota City Friday after he fell from a kayak.
Sheriff Ron Ganrude said the man had fallen out of the kayak into the water. Myles Rolbiecki and Larry Kronebusch launched a commercial fishing boat from Bass Camp and busted through the ice to get to the main channel.
Ganrude said the kayaker was able to get out of the water onto the ice. Rolbiecki and Kronebusch got him off the ice & back to shore along with his kayak. The boat's motor was damaged during the rescue.
