Pay Raises

Pay grades at the Buffalo County Courthouse were increased .67 percent Jan. 1st for non-union employees.

The pay increase is equal to the inflation rate measured by the Consumer Price Index, according to the county board.

The CPI increase did not apply to highway department personnel and sheriff's department communication and correction officers.

A resolution passed by the county board said the wage adjustment excluded highway and communication/correction personnel.

Adjustments for those job positions were recently established as part of the county's general wage compensation and job classification system going into 2017.

All Buffalo County employees other than union deputy sheriffs and elected officials now fall under the county's job classification system.

The county board approved a new 2-year collective bargaining agreement with deputies for a 2 percent raise in 2017 and 1.5 percent in 2018.
