Authorities say a vehicle fire brought the morning commute to a halt on Interstate 90 Monday.
The fire broke out around 6:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-90, west of St. Charles. The interstate was closed to eastbound traffic between Olmsted County Road 10 and Minnesota Highway 74 near St. Charles.
Just before 8:00 a.m. the Minnesota Department of Transportation reported about an 8-minute delay for eastbound traffic in the area.
A witness driving past the truck said it appeared to involve a semi carrying a load of vehicles.
