The Buffalo County Dept. of Administration will be taking over office space formerly occupied by highway department management on the 2nd floor of the courthouse in Alma.
The move is the 1st phase in a long run study of courthouse office relocations authorized by the county's finance committee.
Highway offices adjacent to the judge's circuit courtroom were vacated several months ago and relocated to remodeled office areas added at the department's primary shop facilities along State Highway 37 in Alma.
While other courthouse departments showed interest in the vacated highway office section, it was decided the space was suited for county administrative offices.
Other possible office moves would be explored more later, according to actions taken by the finance committee.
