The brisk pace of home sales in Winona County continued during the month of January.
Winona County Recorder Bob Bambenek said 32 homes, including seven above $300,000, sold during the first month of the new year.
It's the largest number of more expensive homes sold in several years. A year ago there were 34 homes sold in January but none of them were over $300,000.
The most expensive sale this January was for $418,000 on the bluff near Dakota. A home in Cobblestone Creek in Pleasant Valley sold for $410,000.
Other locations for the most expensive homes included Homer, St. Charles and La Crescent. And a result of the sales, the average price jumped from $121,800 dollars in January 2016 to $194,765 this year......
