A dispute between the City of Whitehall and and the Town of Lincoln in Trempealeau County over the annexation of 1,200 acres of land is set to go to court on Wednesday.
The Town of Lincoln has claimed the annexation of the land by the City of Whitehall for a sand mine is illegal because the two properties are not connected to each other.
According to the Trempealeau County Times, The city claims the annexed land is contiguous and that the Department of Administration made a mistake when it ruled it was not connected to the city.
If the annexation is let stand, Whitehall Sand and Rail intends to mine frack sand on the property.
The case will be heard in Trempealeau County Circuit Court Wednesday by Circuit Judge Charles Feltes.......
