A 19-year-old Winona man is facing gun charges after police arrested him at a Winona residence after shots were fired early Sunday.
Deputy Police Chief Tom Williams said Nelson Guillermo Guilloty was placed on a 48-hour hold at Winona Health after he was charged with theft of a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm, and being under 21 and drinking.
The incident started at another residence in the 100 block of West Ninth Street where a resident reported a gun was missing from a bedroom about 1:30 a.m.
Police were called to another residence in the 60 block of West Tenth at 1:44 a.m. on a report of shots being fired.There they arrested Guilloty and found a handgun and 16 spent shell casings in the alley.
No one was injured and Guilloty will make a court appearance after his release from the hospital....
