A huge three-day celebration was held over the weekend to celebrate the official grand opening of the refurbished Minnesota State capitol building in St. Paul.
An open house gave the public a chance to see the 310-million dollar project up close and personal. Winona Representative Gene Pelowski, who was on hand for the event, said the capitol has been restored to its original 1905 appearance and looks even better.
Democratic Minority Leader, Representative Melissa Hortman, said the work was focused on the people of the state with improved access to the building.
The public had a chance to tour the renovated capitol and even enjoy a fireworks display......
