The Minnesota Marine Art Museum in Winona will open Mississippi River Photo Shootout: A Juried Exhibition on Friday, September 1st with a sneak peak opening reception on Thursday, August 31st.
It's an exhibition of outstanding contemporary photographs interpreting, documenting, and celebrating the Mississippi River and life along the Mississippi, from its Minnesota headwaters to the Gulf of Mexico.
Subjects include sights and scenes depicting riverscapes, recreation, commerce, wildlife, weather conditions, nature and natural phenomena. All the photography has been created by amateur and professional photographers.
Judges selected 103 images from more than 500 submissions, creating a large body of photographs as rich and diverse as the river itself.
A sneak peak opening reception for Mississippi River Photo Shootout will be held on Thursday, August 31st The reception is free for members and students and $10 for non-members.
