Humane Society-Flood, Pets



The Winona Area Humane Society is doing its part to help out the pets involved in the Texas hurricane and flooding.

The local shelter has been working with shelters in Texas and will be receiving dogs fromTexas that have been displaced by Hurricane Harvey.

The dogs will be available locally for viewing for the first time at the Humane Society's 5-K Walk for the Animals on September 16th.

The local shelter will also be accepting donations to send back to Texas. The greatest need is pet supplies including gift cards from Petco, PetSmart and Walmart, plus collars and leashes, dog and cat carriers, cat and dog food, and cat litter and boxes.

You are asked to drop off the supplies at the Humane Society before September 12th.The hours for the drop off are Tuesday through Friday noon to 5:00 p.m., or Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m......
