Paddle Backwaters



The public is invited to join Refuge Ranger Ed Lagace in a paddle through the backwaters of the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge near Winona.  

You can join fellow paddlers on Friday, September 22nd at 5:00 p.m. at the Verchota Landing for a two-hour adventure. The event is recommended for moderate to experienced paddles.

The Verchota Boat Landing is located along Prairie Island Road between the spillway and Minnesota City Boat Club.
 
Pre-registration is required by 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 20th calling Ranger Ed Lagace at 494-6236.
 
The Refuge will provide canoes, paddles and PFDs for your use, or you can bring your own equipment.
