Winona Police said an autopsy is being conducted on a body discovered in a cargo bin of an R-V at the Winona ShopKo store parking lot.
Police Chief Paul Bostrack issued a press release saying a group of people had rented the motorhome from an Anoka county business and had parked it in the ShopKo lot. He said the body was discovered about 10:00 p.m.Thursday when they opened an exterior cargo bin during a stop in Winona.
The body was sent to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester for an autopsy.
Winona Police are receiving assistance in the investigation from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Anoka County Sheriff's Department.
Bostrack said no other information is being released because of the ongoing investigation. He told Winona Radio News the public is not in any danger.
