A Twin Cities attorney has announced he has filed a civil lawsuit on behalf of a Rochester man who alleges he was sexually abused by a former Boy Scout leader in the 1970s.
Attorney Jeffrey Anderson filed the complaint on behalf of former scout Scott Hart, who spoke at a news conference. Hart alleged he was abused by former scout leader Richard Hokanson from the age of eleven to sixteen when Hokanson was the leader of St. Pius X sponsored Troop 210 in Rochester.
The suit also names the Boy Scouts of America, and the Gamehaven Council Incorporated as defendants as well as Hokanson.
Anderson said it's estimated Hokanson spent at least 22 years as a boy scout leader and held other positions in the Rochester area involving youth activities.
In July Anderson also filed a similar civil suit with the same defendants on behalf of two other former boy scouts who alleged they also were sexually abused by Hokanson in the 1970s.....
