Winona County Sheriff Dave Brand said he will reveal this coming Monday whether he will seek re-election to a fifth four-year term.
If Brand decides to run he will face at least three other members of his department in a primary. Investigators Kraig Glover and Rob Averbeck announced earlier they will seek the sheriff's post along with Deputy Bill Spitzer, the current St. Charles mayor, who will step down from the post at the end of this year.

In addition , Winona County Commissioner Wayne Valentine indicated Tuesday he will also seek re-election to a second four-term. Valentine represents the second district.
Also up for re-election to the county board are current board chair Marcia Ward in the fifth district, and Jim Pomeroy in the first district.
All county elected officials are also up for re-election along with three city council members and three Winona Area School Board members
Filings for public office in the Novemner election in Minnesota open next Tuesday, May 20th.
The deadline to file is June 3rd.
