Buffalo County Jail

Inmate count at the Buffalo County Jail averaged 14 people per day in May, according to Lt. Diane Mikelson.

Prisoner population ranged from 9 to 20 inmates during the month, normally 10 to 11 males and 3 to 4 females.

Mikelson files a monthly jail population report with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections as well as the county's law enforcement committee.

The report also includes information about inmate medication and client care services, statistical data also filed with state corrections.

There were 36 people booked into the county jail in May, Mikelson said, 26 males and 10 females.

Jail staff overtime amounted to 203 hours in May.
