Winona County Sheriff Dave Brand said searchers went back to the Mississippi River Friday for a fifth day to continue their efforts to recover the body of 29-year-old Andrew Kingsbury, who has been missing since last Sunday.
Brand said four cadaver dogs were being used along with several pieces of underwater equipment in an effort to find the missing man.
A dive-rescue team from Mason City, Iowa, also returned for a second day and Brand said Hennepin County sent two people to help out.
Meanwhile, Brand said 95-percent of the help his department has been getting from a number of agencies and individuals is voluntary at little cost to the county. He said some individuals have even used vacation time.
Brand said the county will bear some minor expenses as the search continues.
A funeral for one of the victims of last Sunday's crash of a vehicle into the river, Mathew Erickson was scheduled to be held Friday in Lanesboro. A funeral for another victim, Blake Overland, is scheduled for Saturday, also in Lanesboro, where the three male victims once resided.
