City Council Action



The Winona City Council Monday approved an application by the city for some assistance for Cytec  Industries which plans an expansion project in Winona.

The council approved seeking up to $575,000 from the Minnesota Investment Fund through the Department of Employment and Economic Development.

Cytec is planning a $12,400,000 expansion that is expected to create some 60 to 70 new jobs.

The council also approved a preliminary proposal for the city to seek some $750,000 in Small Cities Development funds from DEED.

The funds would be made available for housing and commercial building rehabilitation projects including assistance to some of the buildings damaged by the September fire  in downtown Winona....
