The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, posted a contractor solicitation Tuesday to the Federal Business Opportunities website to accept bids for the removal of dredged material from the Grand Encampment placement site in Buffalo County, Wisconsin.
The Corps needs to remove about 500-thousand cubic yards of dredged material from the island in order to continue using the area as a placement site. The use of this area is required to allow continued maintenance of the 9-foot navigation channel.
The Corps' solicitation allows contractors to determine the best process of removing the material from the island, as well as the final disposition of the material.
The solicitation is available for 60 days. The bid opening is currently scheduled for September 6th.
