County Auditor-Treasurer

Only two people have applied for the position of Winona County Auditor-Treasurer.

That's according to County Administrator Duane Hebert who said his office is still working on a timeline for interviewing the applicants and appointing a successor for Sue Rivers who retired last November.  The deadline for filing applications was March 8th.

Hebert said the Winona County Board of Commissioners will discuss the issue at their next meeting on Tuesday, March 26th.  Since Rivers retired, County Finance Director Pat Moga has been overseeing the auditor-treasurer's department.

The new auditor-treasurer will fill Rivers' remaining term that expires at the end of 2014. That person would also need to run for election to the position in November of 2014.
