Duncan is the current Chief Public Defender for the Third Judicial District where she supervises staff and volunteers throughout the 11-county district.
She will be chambered in Owatonna where she will replace Judge Casey Christian who retired on December 31st.
Duncan previously served as assistant public defender for the district. She also has been an assistant county attorney for Rice and Olmsted counties.
The Third Judicial District includes Winona, Wabasha, Houston, Fillmore and Olmsted counties.
