Dresbach Dam-Body Recovered

Authorities have recovered the body of a Genoa, Wisconsin man who was missing after a tugboat went over the Dresbach dam in eastern Minnesota.

Officials say 22 year old Tyler Trussoni never left the boat. He was recovered from the second level of the three level tugboat, wearing his life jacket. Two other men survived with minor injuries.  The are identified as 24 year old Cody Blank of La Crosse and 61 year old Daniel Garmo of De Soto, Wisconsin.

In a statement, Brennan Marine Inc. confirmed that the Motor Vessel Megan McB foundered shortly after 6:00 a.m. Wednesday above Lock and Dam No. 7 near Dresbach.  High water and increased current speeds swept the vessel through the roller gates on the dam, destabilizing the vessel, and causing it to take on water.

The two men who were able make it to shore sustained minor injuries and were taken to a La Crosse hospital. They were also wearing lifejackets.

Numerous law enforcement agencies, including the US Coast Guard, were at the scene along with the La Crosse County Dive Unit.
