Fillmore County authorities say they have a suspect in custody in connection with a series of burglaries in Fillmore and Mower Counties.
Sheriff's Captain John DeGeorge said 32-year-old Michael Niemeyer of Rochester admitted to committing several burglaries, including a breakin at St. John's Lutheran School in Wykoff, a church in Spring Valley, and several downtown Spring Valley businesses.
DeGeorge said the investigation also led authorities to execute a search warrant at a rural Spring Valley residence where stolen property related to the same burglaries was recovered, as well as small amounts of suspected meth and multiple firearms. Components of a meth lab were also discovered on the property.
52-year-old Mark Burrington was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and may face charges related to manufacturing meth.
The results of the investigation are being forwarded to the Fillmore County Attorney.
