It's going to cost you more to get a flu shot this fall if you get the vaccination from Winona County.
The Winona County Board of Commissioners has unanimously approved a new fee schedule for immunizations given by the Public Health Department.
The flu vaccine will be going up from $25 to $35 immediately. Hepatitus B vaccines will increase from $14.50 to $22, as will childhood immunizations. Mantoux testing will increase from $17 to $30 under the new fee schedule.
Community Service Supervisor Jonelle Hubbard told the board Tuesday the increases are in line with Medicare and Medicaid fees and will cover the cost of of their distribution.
It's the first time since 2005 that the fees will be increased.
Hubbard said some fees may be waived for low income recipients or the uninsured.
