Frozen River Film Festival hosting summer camps for kids

By Jason Melillo Jun 6, 2023 | 12:57 PM

(KWNO)-Kids can learn what it takes to be a documentary filmmaker this summer thanks to Frozen River Film Festival. FRFF is hosting filmmaking camps in June and July at Winona State University. A two-week camp for kids in grades 9-12 starts Monday and there’s a one-week camp for kids in grades 5-8 in July.

Students will learn technical skills like how to how to operate a camera or light an interview. But FRFF also hopes to teach kids about the collaborative process of filmmaking. “It’s about how to balance everyone’s different artistic vision so they can create something really exiting together,” says FRFF managing director Eileen Moeller. Spots are still open for the filmmaking camps and tuition assistance is available.  Click here to learn more.
