Gail Heil Dies At 67

One half of a musical duo that helped popularize old time music and was a fixture in southeastern Minnesota for more than twenty five years has died.  Gail Heil has died at her Spring Grove home following a battle with cancer.  She was 67.

Heil and her husband and musical partner Bob Bovee began performing together in 1978.  They were the founders of the Lanesboro Barn Dances and the annual Bluff Country Gathering.

Fellow Minnesota music legend pop Wagner is hosting a memorial celebration in St. Paul on July 21.  It will be held at Celtic Junction, 836 Prior Avenue North from 2:00pm until 6:00pm.  A lot of old time music will be heard.
