Great River Shakespeare Festival opens 20th season

By Jason Melillo Jun 23, 2023 | 1:52 PM

(KWNO)-The Great River Shakespeare Festival opens its second decade in Winona on Friday night with the comedy ‘As You Like It.’ On Saturday the company premiers a non-Shakespeare production called ‘Imbroglio.’

Written and directed by GRSF co-associate Artistic Director Melissa Maxwell, ‘Imbroglio’ is a story that asks questions about our obligations to others and how to help people who might not want to be helped. Sunday’s show is Shakespeare’s ‘A Winter’s Tale,’ which might be described as a romantic comedy. All shows are at 7:00 p.m. at the WSU Performing Arts Center.
