Winona Police are recommending that a 35 year old Lanesboro man be charged with felony criminal vehicular operation in connection with a traffic crash November 6th, that injured three people.
Deputy Police Chief Tom Williams said Daniel Slabaugh was the driver of a vehicle that struck a second vehicle, driven by 38 year old Steven Hawley of Winona, as the Hawley vehicle was turning into the Kwik Trip store located at Highway 43 and Highway 61.
Williams said test results returned from the state crime lab showed Slabaugh had a blood-alcohol content at the of the crash of 0.28%, more than three times the legal limit. Hawley, along with a 39 year old woman and an 11 year old boy, both passengers, were taken to Winona Health for treatment of their injuries.
The case has been forwarded to the County Attorney's Office for determination of formal charges.
