Local authorities are investigating two injury crashes that occurred over the weekend.
The Winona County Sheriff's Department said 62-year-old James Patrick Ryan of Rochester was injured when a tire on the sidecar on his motorcycle blew out and the cycle entered the ditch near County Roads 12 and 17.
The cycle ended up in a corn field and Ryan was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries. The crash was reported at 5:50 p.m. on Saturday.
36-year-old Michael David Kronebusch of Winona was escaped serious injury when the vehicle he was driving went off County Road 17 Sunday about 11:00 p.m. The vehicle went through a fence and ended up in a pasture.
Chief Deputy Ron Ganrude said the vehicle then managed to leave the scene but was tracked down in Winona after a license plate was found at the scene. A witness at the scene of the crash told authorities there were two males in the vehicle. The second man was not injured.
