Live Animal Display

Students, parents, and teachers at Jefferson Elementary School will gather at the school Monday afternoon for the unveiling of a live animal display.

The display is being donated by the Friends of the Refuge Headwaters and staff from the Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge.

It includes a terrarium and an aquarium and will be a permanent home for animals that occur naturally in the wild in the Winona area.

The display was purchased with a portion of a $5,000 grant to the Friends group from the National Environmental Education Foundation.

A special ceremony will be held at 4:00 p.m.
