With one week left in the annual March Foodshare food drive in Winona, the goal for the drive is running well behind a year ago.
Winona Volunteer Services Executive Director, Sandra Burke, says while the goal is $33,000 pounds of food, current totals are under 10,000 pounds.
Cash donations are also down. Burke says she can make a $1 donation go much farther in food purchases and from donations from two additional sources.
Donations can be made in drop barrels at local food stores, local churches and even out in front of Volunteer Services' office at 402 East Second Street where barrels are now located.
The drive officially ends on April 4th.
