The Winona City Council Monday received an update on the status of the Masonic Temple overhead rigging systems.
Community Services Director, Chad Ubl, told the council an inspection by a certified rigging company shows the rigging above the Masonic Temple stage is too dangerous to use at this point and it's use has been halted.
Ubl says with many upcoming events coming up, there's a plan in place to secure the drops to make the stage safe.
Ubl says the rest of the building is still safe to rent out and the stage will be as well after the drops are secured.
Ubl says over the next 30 to 60 days a decision will made on how to procede with securing the drops, which is estimated to cost $20,000.
