All eight candidates have connections with local colleges...five with Winona State University, two with St. Mary's University, and one with Minnesota State College-Southeast Tech.
The new Miss Winona will represent the community at the Miss America Pageant and also the City of Winona over the next year. The winner will take over the crown from Miss Winona 2011, Shelby Siemek.
The candidates are: Stephanie Kostuck, Chelsea Nesbit, Laura Lake, Jenna Magadanz, and April Glasspoole, all either current or former Winona State University students... Brooke Pozanc and Serica Rowley, both students at St. Mary's University...and Southeast Tech student Samara Storovich.
