Cotter President, Sister Judith Schaefer, said Oscar Uribe has been appointed full-time principal to oversee grades 7 though 12. Currently there is separate leadership for grades seven and eight, and for grades nine through 12.
Uribe is a current Spanish teacher and soccer coach at Cotter. He was the top candidate in a national search for a new principal and previously was principal for four years at Lanier High School in Austin, Texas.
Cotter High School's current principal, Sandi Blank, has served the longest tenure as principal in Cotter's history with 12 years in the role. Blank will continue as a teacher and serve in a leadership role, assisting the new principal with academic initiatives and serving in alumnae relations.
In another change, Dave Forney, currently serving a part-time role as the Director of Cotter Junior High School and as a guidance counselor, will serve as the new Dean of Academic Life for Cotter Schools, working with the new principal on learning goals and academic achievement for the Cotter students.
