Two people are in custody and are being accused of committing so called ''obituary burglaries'' in southwestern Wisconsin.
The Trempealeau County Sheriff's Office reports they investigated a burglary at a residence in the Town of Hale in Trempealeau County on April 7th. The victim of the robbery had passed away a few days prior to the burglary.
The investigation led to the arrests of 32 year old Seth Furgason of Junction City, Wisconsin, and 23 year old Casandra Miller of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.
Miller, who is Furgason's girlfriend, admitted to authorities she assisted him in a scheme to research death notices and obituaries in the local media and then rob the homes of the people who had just passed away.
Furgason is also linked to additional similar burglaries in Chippewa County. The case is still under investigation.
