Larry Pogemiller, Director of the Minnesota Office of Higher Education, will visit Winona on Tuesday, February 26th to discuss Governor Dayton's budget recommendations for higher education with students.
Dayton is proposing a balanced $240,000,000 investment for postsecondary education, the largest percentage increase for any area of the state budget.
His recommended $80,000,000 for the Minnesota State Grant program is the largest increase in direct student aid in over 25 years, expanding eligibility for over 5,000 additional students and providing a grant increase for nearly 100,000 Minnesota students.
Students from area colleges are participating in Tuesday's round table discussion at Somsen Hall on the campus of Winona State University .
